The Baby Birds

OK, one set of my baby birds hatched and I was thrilled. I have been careful not to make a nuisance of myself and keep my distance from the parents.

The other nest of eggs had not hatched and I checked on them a couple of days ago and the eggs were gone. I looked all around and could find them no where. The parent birds were gone, too. This nest was in my big fern on the front porch.

Yesterday the baby birds disappeared, too.

To say I am upset is an understatement. These bird nests had become my life and now they are all gone.

I think a snake must have gotten them.

Any other ideas?
