Re: severe obsessive compulsive disorder

I realize this post is from about a year ago but I just wanted to let you know that my son was diagnosed with "Morbid" or "Bad Thoughts" OCD over a year ago. I will tell you what has helped him. 1st, I had him on Singulair and one of the nasty little side effects that Merck doesn't want you to know about are things like hallucinations (audio and visual), psychotic symptoms, obsessions (JUST TO NAME A FEW). If I were you I would get off of EVERY synthetic medication immediately! I took my son off of all his allergy medications, dairy, wheat, gluten, sugar, preservatives, artificial colors and flavors. His diet (and mine I might add) has become, for the most part, raw and organic (I also lost 30 lbs., which was a good and natural "side effect"). I had his amalgams replaced, give him things like Blue/Green Algae & glyconutrients every day. I also give him psyllium every morning to keep him "moving" and clean. I make sure he gets enough sleep and drinks plenty of water (void of chlorine and flouride). What I'm saying is that what I would suggest is stop your medications, clean out your body, change your diet (I'm assuming its not raw and unprocessed - if it is I apologize for suggesting otherwise). I also had him on Mind Soothe Jr. and Pure Calm from a company called Native Remedies. These things helped ease his symptoms while I rooted out the cause. He is 95% better than he was a year ago (he had gotten REALLY REALLY BAD). You may email me if you like. I have seen 1st hand what this horrible disorder does to a person and it is completely and throughly heartbreaking. I do believe that it is not a "mental" disorder but really rather a physical and/or chemical and/or allergic disorder. My son's therapist told me there "is not cure whatsoever". I thought to myself when she told me this - "Want to bet?" And my determination of finding a cure for my little boy was "my" obsession.
