Squash flowers eaten by snails

I think snails are eating my squash plant. It is growing like crazy and produced a very large flower. I look and see a big chunk taken out of the stem of the flower and one of the small flowers looks like it has been eaten completely.

Should I worry. Is this part of a natural thing that I should leave alone. If it is not is there some natural way to keep to snails away from my squash?

Thanks,

Evan
