Re: Write
Thank you Bob and Grz for this additional information.
I have already written and signed the petition and would
urge others to do so immediately~~
Here is what I wrote~~
........................................................................................
We spend over a thousand dollars a year just on nuts alone as we have 5 large birds, as well, as ourselves, eating almonds. I will NOT buy any almonds ever again if there is any chance they have been sprayed with propylene oxide. Birds are VERY sensitive to chemicals and it would not be worth the chance of killing them, nor is the risk to human health worth consuming almonds which have been pasturized by dubious methods. Please do the right thing and leave almonds in their natural state~!
........................................................................................
There are so many other products which I consume which will
also fall away from my diet if almonds become contaminated
with industrial pollutants. Can you feel good about drinking
a cup of almond milk or how about Great-Aunt Julie, who was
born in England, so loves marzipan as the ultimate treat...
no way will I be bringing her any marzipan if this passes
through. The little mexican wedding cookies will never pass
my mouth again if almonds are adulterated. My salads will
never be sprinkled with almonds again. I particularly love
soaked almonds from the fridge as a little snack and those
will become a thing of the past if almonds are pasturized.
Again, I would encourage any almond lover to consider how
this would affect them and their family and friends~sign the
petition, and write your letter. Save the Almond~!
blessings,
Zoe
