Well there's no guarantees in the wild1 lol! But at least they will eat less if they are filled with peanuts! If you make the peanuts easy and accesible and make your sunflowers difficult by means of noisemakers or a dog a cats they will take the safe and freely offered peanuts or whatever you make accessible to them!
