Re: First Week OPing...bleeding gums not necessarily bad

Hey AP,

I have used a soft toothbrush for several months, which is helpful. I will get a little bleeding in my gums if I use a harder one, but I "downgraded" to a soft one after beginning oil pulling last fall, and a couple months later abandoning toothpaste and switching to soap and baking soda.

I have really noticed the teeth-tightening effects of OP. The other day when I tried to floss, I could barely get the floss between my teeth in some places. That tells me that my gums are getting healthier/stronger. So a little bleeding doesn't bother me.

I do think that bleeding gums could be part of detox. So much shows up in the mouth/gums in terms of detox symptoms. Increased circulation can cause bleeding gums -- when I was pregnant, my gums bled more, because of increased blood volume. So it is not necessarily a bad thing, just a sign of activity -- you are seein' da OP action!

Hope you continue to feel well and post about your experience -- I always enjoy reading what you have to say!

Happy pulling to all --

Laura
