Master-Cleanse almost seven weeks ago. Here's how it's been.

False starts/Abandoned Attempts: countless
Goals w/Fasting:
to give my digestive system a break
clarity/peace of mind
to jumpstart weight loss
clean colon health
to alleviate depression
and most recently to tackle, head on, hypothyroidism
Disclosures: I often use limes instead of lemons. Taste better to me. Lemons are hybrid. I haven't yet, but I will, do a psyillium seed and
Bentonite mix. I've learned that if you soak the volcanic ash (benonite) in room temp. H2O overnite, it won't be all clunky. The one time I did the P&B on MC I removed HUGE mucoid plaque ropes. The 2xs I've done P&B while not on the fast, said ropes never came. Also, on my first ever MC I added drops of Worm/
parasite Cleanse to my MC for six days and actually saw worms in the toilet bowl. Yuck. Plan to do another Days 53-60. Oh yeah, I prefer the cayenne capsules to the spicy lemonade. And oh yeah, sometimes substitute Ginger for Peppermint. Does the same thing: calms the tummy. Especially welcome after the dreaded SWF.
Finally began this fast after about 21 false starts, those days when you start the MC only to eat by sunset and say you'll start tomorrow/after the premierre/party/Monday/Sunday....For me, when it clicks though, I know it. And if I make it past Day 3 I'm good. Not so much because of the detoxing stages but because I HATE days 1 and 2.
Am working w/my holistic doc. here in NYC. Been getting acupuncture (abt 10 sessions) and Lymphatic Draining massages. I've continued to "Spin" at my gym (45 min. classes only) throughout my fast. I always have an extra tbs. of maple before my workout. Felt dizzy once. Got off my bike. I sauna/steam after each workout after learning that the skin is as good as the bowels for removing toxins. Applying same principle, I added Bikram or Hot Yoga classes to this fast. Bikram for me, has been amazing. I sweat like crazy and always look like I'm coming from getting a facial. Nice. Highly recommend. Ran around Central Park's reservoir this weekend and last. A mile and a half. Mostly I sit my ass down and write. I am a published author, a produced filmmaker and a professional procrastinator. I'm a little concerned that I'm only truly, consistently wroking while I'm fasting. But it's a nice reveal. I'm always learning things abt myself on my cleanses, which may be hard, but is priceless. Also, been completely celibate throughout the cleanse. Don't know why that matters, but it too is a pattern, not a recommendation, just my own weird pattern.
I try so hard not to weigh myself on the MC, but here are a few physiological effects:
Day 8/1st Weigh In: Lost 6lbs
Day 12/After 4 Bikram sessions: Lost an addition 10...in 4 days. Assuming it was water.
Day 20: 2lbs/tried not to get upset/obsessed, plus usually find I stall
Day 30: Total Weight Loss: 24lbs (hate that men alyway lose more than us!)...quote from my diary.
Day 40: 30 lbs down...yay!
Day 48: 38 lbs down...nice.
I'm sure that I fluctuated during that period. I remember on my 3rd MC I did, it drove me crazy to be gaining a lb. or 2 while fasting, almost thru my scale out. Didn't, but managed to exercise restraint this time around. Hid my scale in a closet that is full of other boxes/stuff I don't want to deal with it.
About those eliminations...
Did the
SWF (Salt-Water-Flush) pretty faithfully first month (at least 21 days of it)...
Days 1-7 alarmingly solid elimnations.
Week 2: more butt pee than anything
Week 3: Lots of hockey puck/black walls of my colon eliminations
Week 4: More butt pee. One day of nothing, even after a SWF
Weeks 5 and 6: mostly Get Regular Yogi Tea...huge, runny elimination on Day 41, which always makes one go Wha?
I'll add E3Live the final ten days of my fast. Algae essentially. Fruits cleanse, vegetables nourish. Plan to juice kale/apple/ginger/cucumbers daily post cleanse ala Nathalia Rose's Raw Food Detox Diet.
Other Big Reading Thing: Daniel P. Reid's The Tao of Health, Sex and Longevity. And of course the always helpful, usually supportive posts on Curezone...
