Iodine and supporting nutrients, I believe the body is capable of detoxing. It might take longer, but it is safer.
And yes, it helps to stay away from toxic chemicals & halides. I would imagine that the Japanese have as much pollution as we do, but their consumption of
Iodine mostly in the form of Seaweed/Fish is the equivalent of approximately 2 Drops of Lugol's. Therefore, I don't think we need to consume larger doses of
Lugol's (a man-made product & not Seaweed/Seafood) to receive this protection.
I was re-reading Dr. Jarvis' book, the
Iodine chapter. Speaking of iodine dosages, he made a very interesting statement.
"IT IS USEFUL TO REMEMBER THAT THE HUMAN BODY WORKS ON THE MINIMUM OF ANYTHING IT NEEDS." (My Caps)
He recommended 1 Drop twice per week if 150
lbs. or under -- 2 Drops if over 150 lbs.
During times when sickness is going around, he said to take it 3 times per week.
Dr. Jarvis went into detail about the halides. He knew all about it.
A little
Lugol's and Seaweed/Seafood for me. By the way, the small fisherman who catch fish with hook & line, only get the younger, smaller fish that haven't had a chance to accumulate as many toxins.
