Vitamin C from China?

I was watching Lou Dobbs tonight and he had a report that the vast majority of Vit c in supplements sold in the US is from China. The reporter (Kitty Pilgrim) linked this to the pet food scandal by saying these supplies are unregulated and unchecked. They showed stock news footage of vitamins on a store shelf. They specifically showed Solgar and Nature's Promise. It seemed to me to be a dangerous report scaring people into supporting Codex. I wonder if Solgar or Nature's Promise gets their Vit c from China and what is the actual truth about Vit. C supplies from China.Anyone know?
