Some of the symptoms of depression:

• Aggression
• Anxiety
• Suicide
• Anorexia
• Harmful thoughts
• Psychosis
• Insomnia
• Depression
• Irritability
• Anxiety

Would you look at that!!  The list is essentially the same as yours.  If someone who is depressed has essentially the same symptoms as someone taking anti-depressants, what would a reasonable person conclude? 

Answer:  That the particular prescribed medications are not working.  And another drug or drug combination should be tried.
