Re: IMPORTANT STUFF HERE :) Re: I was just diagnosed with PCOS... please help!! Advise anyone????
Yes, the cysts were identified by an external US, then identified and classified by a vaginal ultrasound. There were approximate 12-16 cysts, in the typical "string of pearls' formation. They are gone....confirmed by another vaginal ultrasound.
I feel VERY strongly, that hormone imbalances (in their smaller degrees) are simply a part of who we are,,,NOT an imbalance that needs some kind of correction. BOTH my grandmothers were EXTREMELY logical, non-emotional and had many male qualities...although neither had any excess hair growth that I'm aware of. One one side, my grandmother 'carried her weight' more on the masculine side...stronger/heavier shoulders and belly fat, etc...but I think that's who 'god' designed her to be. What doctor's might call an excess of testosterone now, did NOT affect her beauty, her health, NOR her ability to conceive (but it did make her a VERY logical business woman that was self-reliant, in a time most women were totally dependent upon men).
Hormone imbalances in "excess". The worst (most dangerous) treatment in the world, is to to put a band-aid over/on them with more hormones! One NEEDS to find out what lies at the ROOT CAUSE, and then heal whatever is broken...NOT start throwing all kinds of chemical hormones into a body that already has a hormone dysfunction.
Honestly, I would NEVER undergo 'traditional' hormone therapy, no matter HOW bad my symptoms are...but I would consider 'natural hormones' if I couldn't possibly correct the real reason I had the issue. I love who I am, the way I am...and to think I'd take the possibility of losing all of the masculine qualities that make me so vibrantly sexual, such a logical thinker, such a NON-emotional "female whiner"...would be mortifying to me.
However, I appear now (other than the excess weight I have to lose) extremely feminine when I want to appear that way. At my normal body weight, I'm a cross between Mary Lou Retton (gymnast) and Paula Abdul. At 18 years old, and 118
pounds (the day of my wedding), my measurements were 35-21-36. Yet at that time, I WAS starting to feel many of the symptoms of PCOS.
Iodine deficiency CAUSES hormone imbalances at their root. Until you become
Iodine deficient, it's my strong opinion that it would be VERY dangerous to start messing around with hormones. Give your body what it needs to regulate ITSELF...and then take it from there.
'Hope to see you on the
Iodine Support Forum - the healings happening (especially with female issues) are abundant!
