Thanks, Unyquity. I asked my wife the other day, before I posted these questions, why she could eat iodized salt and sometimes tuna and yet still be allergic to iodine. She didn't know. From what I'm hearing from the answers received so far is to carefully test for reactions. If the Iodine therapy shows improvement with me, I'll definately broach the subject with her at a later date.
As far as my friend's child goes, I will follow up on these posts more, do some more research and talk to her again. I know that anything she can do to help him would be a great relief to her.
