What are your thoughts on the integrity of the paste? Do you think that being that it's from Thailand, that it might have some weird organophosphate or other fungal residue indigenous to the Far East? I know, for example, NOT to buy produce labelled "Organic" from countries such as Mexico & Central/South America for the reason that they're allowed different processing & growing standards than the US is and are still permitted to tout an "Organic" label.
Even water that's used as irrigation for organic produce is oftentimes fluoridated & contaminated with other chemicals.
