My personal suggestion is that men should give / let blood a few times a year, it helps the body to deal with too much iron (which it really cant in any other way) and for some people with toxic issues allows the body to rebuild using 'fresh' blood cells.
Mineral dense foods are often packed with iron and for men this is more of a problem with long term supplementation as excess iron is not a good thing. I feel that we were designed to bleed little and often and these days with our lifestyles that encourage physical lassitude and weakness our bodies arent 'tested' enough.
Cant help with the cholesterol issue, only to say that from my reading fats are caused by too much Sugar and have little to do with what fat you ingest. Flax is a goitrogen so I would switch this oil to something else for a while. I highly recommend Udo's Choice oil and anything written by him for the real story on where fatty deposists come from.
