Re: Need advice on shingles
Corey:
I had a really, really painful sore on my tongue a few months ago that I believe was herpes. It came about after I had been using oregano oil in my Oil Pulling mixture. Literature I read and old posts here suggests that oregano oil can really force some of these dormant viruses up and out.
That said, it was extremely painful and quite maddening. I opted for narcotic pain relievers. I was trying to just keep oil pulling and deal with it but I started being unable to sleep and eat and I have two kids to take care of.
My doctor/Rx drug policy is painkillers or
Antibiotics when absolutely necessary (he gave me something called Famvir, too -- an antiviral -- which I filled but did not take, and I am glad to read these posts because it definitely was not within the 72 hour time frame Molly talked about). I think short-term drugs can be used as tools -- it's the long-term ones for "chronic conditions" that scare the bejesus outta me!
I would search Curezone for some old posts on herpes/canker sores and oregano/olive oil and see what you come up with. There were some posts that explain how the Amish treat herpes with oregano.
I think that stuff came up and out of me fast because of the oregano oil. (I had chicken pox as a child but don't have oral or genital herpes and had never had a canker-sore problem.) Apparently we all have dormant herpes -- isn't it called shingles when it breaks out on the trunk area?
I hope she feels better and hetter.
