"cannot" because to do so would jeopardize the survival of the whole body, which all systems in the body will try to protect at all costs. Someone may look perfectly fine, very strong and healthy--we've all seen this-- and then suddenly, or so it seesm, cancer. Or a stroke. etc. In reality, the acidity was probably deeply entrenched, and the body in its infinite wisdom, stored it very quietly, trying to contain it to stay safe.

This simply means, your body can dump a larger amount of acids safely.
