Re: Desperately seeking recovery "buddy" in return for same

You know, I think this is a job that only God can do. You could have an email buddy, but when it comes to quitting stuff, only God can do it. There will be many times when you won't be able to do what a buddy tells you, and there will be many times when you won't even care what your buddy tells you. Do you know how we can tell someone "Don't let me have any ice cream," and that person knows darn well that if they try to keep you from the ice cream they'll be in big trouble. It's the nature of addiction. That's why only God can help. When I was first so sick and trying to get off of Sugar I fell off the wagon a bit every day, and found I had to pray every day for God to help me. Your mind will fool you into thinking that you have to have whatever it is you're trying to get off of. Also, when you're going through withdrawal, your body will tell you it needs it to be okay. No email can help then. I hope this message is more encouraging than discouraging. The best part about it is that God is always there, no need to phone or email.
