If you want something that's easy to understand and use, but affordable, maybe you could check ebay or something for a used macbook. Simple, easy ... it just works. Things will look different from the Windows stuff you're used to, but believe me, it's very easy on the eyes, and pretty quick to get used to.

Of course, if you do have about $2500 to spend, go for a new MacBook Pro. :)
