Re: Texas Opt-Out Vaccination Exemption Process

The opt-out that everyone is referring to is a Vaccine Exemption Affidavit that parents must apply for with the state dept of health. You may claim exemption for reasons of conscience or medical adverse reactions which a doctor has to verify for your family.

This means submitting a request letter. The department of health will then complete the affidavit with all your information. It must then be notarized. It is then legal to present to all public school bodies; day cares, elementaries, middle school, high school, college, etc.

Here is a link to Parents Requesting Open Vaccine Education website. It’s an excellent site regarding vaccine education. I used it to help go through the exemption process and have had no problems.

I feel grateful that in Texas this opt-out remains. We must remember to have hope in all situations.

To have a way out of these attempted restrictions, we must be open minded that there IS a way out. Broaden your perspective that there is a way out...we are much more likely to find it then. We then take appropriate action.
