I understand what you say, Trapper, but...

where is self accountability? I understand that living in the city (I do, well suburb of the city) is not totally conducive for one's health. Yet there are many who live in the city or suburbs, because they choose to (for whatever reason) or they "see no other way" about it.

Yet, people need to be held accountable for what they consume or do not consume into their bodies. To say that because they went back to their old lifestyle and way of eating is because of society is negating their responsiblity. They choose the food they eat. They choose the non food (sugars, processed foods and whatever else comes to mind) they consume. It is their choice.

A person has to make a CONSCIOUS choice for the changes they wish to occur and then they will move "mountains" to continue on that path.

I am not saying that this is an easy thing to do but I am saying that when one does make it a Conscious choice, it is easier.

I stopped drinking 15 1/2 months ago. I had tried previous times yet never decided consciously to do so. When I chose that choice and made it conscious, I had less difficulties than I had, had previously. At any rate, I continued with White Sugar s, mostly sweets. I would eat sweets probably to make up for the "sugar lost" due to not drinking. I am know making the conscious choice to become healthy...which was one reason I quit drinking.

I have said all that (about me) to say that when one decides "enough is enough" they will change their lifestyle. If they do not, then it is the choice they choose. We can not blame the government or other people for why we are where we are. In doing so, you give up your power. You give up your control.
