Below is a reference to argyria caused by Colloidal Silver .

In my not-so-humble opinion, Colloidal Silver is one of the worst hoaxes to be perpetrated against us in the name of natural health supplementation. It is not a panacea, it is a POISON.

Dr. Andrew Weil, one of the foremost natural health oriented doctors in the world, says it quite eloquently:

"This is nonsense: the human body doesn’t need silver, and no immune system disorders are related to a deficiency of it."

"You’re supposed to feel better, age more slowly and heal faster. If all this sounds too good to be true, I can assure you it is."

Regarding the carcinogenic (and other toxic) properties of silver: the 1979 Registry of Toxic Effects lists 5 separate studies relating silver to cancer in animals and skin toxicity for humans.
