Re: Comfrey. Your thoughts MH?

mh,

To be fair and giving the benefit of the doubt - I feel a lot of the other modern learning material that's out there is influenced by the pharmaceutical big shots-- who intimidate their editors into casting doubts about certain herbs. The sincere person seeking to learn can be confused.

When I first learned about herbs, I also was worried at first-- at some of the things I read. I recall some comments made about garlic being a poison too--but give me garlic over Dayquil or Nyquil for a cold anyday!

Even if one drinks too much water at one time (as in the case of that woman who died from that water drinking contest recently) one could die. You have to use common sense in every thing- including foods.

Eventually I realized that every herb is put here by God- to be used wisely. It is when mankind tries to IMITATE and synthesize their own version of what was placed on this planet, when things start getting corrupt and toxic.

Remember when the FDA made statements that Vitamin E is toxic? They didnt tell people that their slanted tests were done on SYNTHETIC Vitamin E.
Also, I read that asperin is no longer made with White Willow Bark- but is purely synthetic now-- something people may want to consider before putting anymore synthetic poisons in thier body.

Give me comfrey over any drug any time. I know that if I want my liver and thyroid to stop working properly, I can simply take any over the counter pain killers as directed on the label.
