THE NEED FOR BALANCE

I believe that you are reflecting a disturbing sentiment within the natural healing community. While your statements regarding modern medicine have some merit, there are a growing number of doctors and other healthcare professionals who are expanding their understanding of the principles and application of natural medicine and healing. Furthermore, there are many 'snake oil' peddlers and natural health enthusiasts who are making fortunes preying on the fears and desperation of sick people. Credentialed or not, no one has a monopoly on concern for human life and well-being, nor are they excluded from the practice of exploitation or financial motivation.

I use and encourage the principals and practice of natural healing in all its modalities for myself and my patients. Health and well-being can only be restored in a holistic approach that includes nutrition, detoxification, stress management and lifestyle modification. However, allopathic medicine has its place...I would never suggest that an herbal poltice be applied to an amputated limb, for instance! Swinging the pendulum to the opposite extreme of that which has been long held in the medical community is not the answer to restoring health...BALANCE is! Tweet
