I have to disagree and say you can't speak for everyone. Though I didn't lose all my weight to fasting alone, I've lost a good amount of it, and it gave me a good kick start on my weight loss and life transformation. It also helped me to gain the discipline I needed to control my addiction to food which I beleive is key to losing weight in the first place. To date I have lost 84 pounds going from 310 to 226; a size 28+ to a 18. I think it depends on the person and their willingness to not only choose a plan but to turn around and work the plan. For many fasting will not be a solution, however.. it does work.
