I keep all my magnets in an aluminium box that has plastic trays lined with a velour type material that has slots and compartments to keep the magnets safe and to prevent them knocking in to each other.

You could even make a wooden box with compartments and line it with soft cloth.

After using your magnets place them back in the box and store it away somewhere safe and away from electrical items.
