question about iodine

I have only one thyroid, and that one when last checked was swollen
is that goiter? i did a parasite flush and have done several LF
but someplaces i read Iodine is good to take supplementally, and one
article said dont take in too much iodine.
I bought some thryoid assist ,took some, but not confident to take it everyday three
times..any advice????
