Often people claim that humans are the only species that drinks the milk of other species. Actually, this is not true. When an orphaned baby animal is fortunate enough to find an adoptive and lactating "mother," it will nurse as much as possible. I recently received an e-mail with several pictures showing a hippo with her "baby" pigs! Granted, each species' milk is optimal for its young, but that doesn't mean categorically that other species' milk is bad!
I also believe that fresh (raw) milk from pasture-fed goats or cows is a valuable addition to a child's diet. I don't think the same thing about even organic commerically sold milk these days. Read one article about the power of big dairy and I was simply appalled -- it is a huge lobby, and if you look at what goes into and what happens to milk on its way from a cow's udder to your table, you will be as disgusted by big dairy as many are by big tobacco!
