Very Frustrated
December of 2004 was the last time my face was normal and I actually felt decent looking. Since then, I have gone to doctor after doctor for the red flakey splotches under my chin, around my lips, and on my eyelids and eyebrows. They don't itch all the time... just seldomly. I have tried regular tricks such as washing my face and putting on hydrocortizone cream, triple anitbiotic ointment... I have changed my face soap from sensitive skin dove to neutrogena to not washing my face at all... the doctors I have seen have given me ointment after cream, and nothing happened. I took steroids for two months, which made it go away, but it came back once the steroids were stopped. I was then put on zyrtec, zantac, and singulair to stop all histamine in my body... didn't help much. Using eucerine cream helped a little, but the reddness and dryness was still evident. I have even gone to an allergist who did an allergy test on me. Granted, I was allergic to all but eleven of the 54 items tested, but even washing my sheets every week, using a detergent with no scent, trying to keep the dust to a minimum in my dorm room, and even stopped eating apples cause the doctor said that these things could help minimize allergens... and I still have this problem.
I am seven months pregnant now, from the time I got pregnant up to now, my face hasn't been too bad... but I recently got back from a trip to Florida *Fort Lauderdale* for Christmas, and California *Fort Irwin/Barstow* for New Years, and my entire body is messed up. My face is covered in red blotches again... started with my right eyelid in Florida, then got worse and spread to my arms and legs *hands, wrists, forearms, upper arms, behind my knees, and behind my calfs*. The blotches on my arms and legs are red, dry, and itchy most of the time. The ones on my face aren't so itchy, but do itch from time to time.
I dont know what to do anymore, or what alternatives to suggest to the doctor. The only face cleansing systems that I have used and not had any problems with is clinique and proactive... I am not even sure if I should go back to one of those to help. I figure that I should first get medication from the doctor to help heal the red blotches. If anyone has any suggestions as to what could have caused it... or any questions that I can ask the doctor, or any questions that anyone could ask me that would help figure out what's wrong... I would greatly appreciate it.
