Re: An update on an past regular...words of encouragement

This would be my 4th 40 dayer and even on my first after 30 day or so unless one is dealing with some major illness or has pretty bad intestinal build up I think the gains are relatively small. Then there is the isssue of slowing the metabolism so my thought is if I was to go past 40 I would transition to a juice fast. That way I could still be cleasning but at the same time be taking in some mega nutrition. Nother factor is the cold weather. When your metabolism is slower and you are not taking nutrition you get a lot colder. If I do go past 12/20 I will stop the oxy and go back to the SWF.

Good for you for pointing the lemon lady to the book.  I couldn't agree with you more. Unfortunately since the MC hit the mainstrean in the gossip rags the seriousness and actual purpose of the MC has been greatly diluted by the influx of desperate dieters. I was around before the first People arcticle and the week after this forum became all but useless. The "fasting for weightloss" or as I refer to it "disfunction junction" ;+D forum had to be created  so some semblance of functionality and actual purpose could be maintained here and the "Water Fasting" forum.

Very cool that you're going to Alaska. I've never been but a couple of years ago a situation came up where an oportunity to work on a  pilot for a flyfishing show came up. Unfortunately it never happend. I do canoe tripping and have been researching doing a trip up in Alaska. It's really wild frontier country and quite dangerous with Grizzlies frequenting river shores to fish.

I imagine that with the day night time changes could mess with your sleep cycles. It would be cool if you had a full moon when you're up there. One of the coolest experiences I've had camping was on a 4 days river trip I did in October in WVa. Watching the full moon rise over the ridges in low clouds and fog was one of the coolest light shows I've ever seen. Once your eyes adjust to the darkeness everything in the woods take on this real sureal look.

I hope you have a great trip.
