Heat thins the blood. Moist heat and then ice cold water has a history of correcting heart issues. I read that the severe heart patient can safely slide out of hot water and into cold water and back and forth with no ill results. I doubt those on drugs should do this otr anything until after they get off the "soup" (drugs).
I have no doubts all humans have the potential to live on air and sunshine. But who will take the time needed to enjoy life that much? Who will walk away from the rat race?
