It depends on what you mean by copious. Too much water can be just as bad as too little if it is consumed incorrectly. I go by the minimum amount of water to be drunk daily is the traditional 64 ounces, or four ounces every thirty minutes for the average 16 hours a day you are awake. The maximum amount should be half your weight in ounces. That's to say if you weigh 150 pounds you should be drinking between 64 and 75 ounces of water every day. This does not include other drinks, just fresh, pure water. Water should never be chugged, it needs to be sipped. This will help the water be absorbed, rather than flushed right through the body.
