Alzheimer's help please

Is Alzheimer's a real disease or is it an acid condition. Can it be reversed or cured thru diet? I feel stupid for asking this, but my mom has been diagnosed with it and given drugs for it. I know what drugs do to the body and I know that she will be given more and more drugs to counter act the side effects. This is ripping up my family I hate big phara reps in white coats and there drugs and the rest of my family bow down to them like they are gods. They want to put her into a assisted living palce, which is a wing off the nursing home, I want to give her a chance with diet at home, I know I will probably have to be there most off the time at least for now. The big pharma quack told her she had two yrs, It is so hard to believe the world we live in and very hard to deal with these people and this system. Unbelieveable she is 73 by the way
