"Red" dot and "Green" dot

Can someone please explain the meaning of “green” dot and “red” dot marked in the Indian food packs?

I have even seen product which is made out of gee which are marked with green dot. Also recently I purchased three pack of jelly(motha brand) one marked in green, the other in red and the other not marked with either red or green BUT all of them had the same ingredients. So how does it differ?

Is there any statutory body that monitors each and every food manufacturing companies for their use of “green” dot?
