Thankyou! Re: HELP!! ON NO-GRAIN (PALEO) DIET, but have UNEXPLAINED NEUROPATHY
tHANKS very much for the reply - it may have sounded as if I had more nuts & seeds, but it's just a few of each, so prob. only 1/4 cup per day. I'm thinking I should soak or sprout them, though - they are a source of B vitamins, and I have a candida problem (see post on Paleo
Diet Forum ).
Because I had some "granuloma annularae" on my elbow (ususally only diabetics get it)I did have a test for insulin resistance before Paleo, and it came back "normal". Once I gave up sugar, grains & coffee and went paleo, the g.a. went away and I've been assuming my insulin status is fine.
I did have actual injuries which could explain the symptoms in my right leg & arm , BUT not ABOVE the knee in my right leg, at least according to what the docs said.
After reading a lot about neuropathies, I could see no point in stopping exercise at least so far, because the people who did, just got worse and worse regardless.
After much reading, I do suspect candida as being behind some of this, since it apparently can cause neuropathy and also can seem to rear its head on the Paleo diet - the big question is, why has the candida shown up since going Paleo, and why am I possibly deficient in B vitamins, calcium & magnesium - which came first?
