so i didnt put the lid on "tightly". its been 5 days now and im not sure if i should through them out or not. i know i did use garlic and salt with it and it had brown foam at the top of it. the others smell fine but i just placed the lid on top and did not screw it down. i thought there was gonna be some "gas" that needed to excape during the fermentation process. i think i will but them in the fridge now if the dont smell wrotten. has anyone else done this before? is it really nesessary to tighly close the lid to the jar?
