Re: I've tried MC for 10 days and found veggie fasting better
In my experience, since I have also done both kinds
of fasting, the difference between the Master Cleanse
and the juice fasting is that one is primarily for
detoxing, (MC) and the other, juice fasting is for
"rebuilding", although it also does contribute to
the detoxing process.
The
Master-Cleanse is nutritionally slim and one is taking in
minimal calories. With juice fasting, you are mega-
dosing on vitamins and can take in the juice of a
pound of carrots and cucumbers, beets, spinach, whatever
else you want to add in one glass and your body loves
that saturation of nutrients. I always feel great when
juice fasting and can also recommend it. You can juice
fast probably indefinitely, whereas it would not be
appropriate to use
The Master Cleanse indefinitely.
Still,
The Master Cleanse is good for what it does do
and especially, IMHO, if one is seeking to redefine
one's relationship with food, it can be very good in that
it does limit one's calories and you do have time to
reflect on how you use food.
I am happy for you that you found something to do
which did work for you. The time you spent using the
MC was not time wasted. You gave your digestive system
a rest and allowed your body to ~(from the book)~
To dissolve and eliminate toxins and congestion that
have formed in any part of the body.
To cleanse the kidneys and the digestive system.
To purify the glands and cells throughout the entire body.
To eliminate all unusable waste and hardened material in the joints and muscles.
To relieve pressures and irritation in the nerves, arteries, and blood vessels.
To build a healthy bloodstream.
To keep youth and elasticity regardless of our years.
Congratulations on your success~
be happy, be well,
Zoe
