Re: --answer-- A discussion on Brix Readings: Reliable or not Reliable?
Moreless,
This still does not answer any of my questions. Yes, I've read all the info on your site about brix meters and testing, including all the links you provided, and additionally have done research from other sources. Yes, I'm using the correct refractometer, o-32 w/ temperature compensation .
Perhaps you can fault me for my ability to interpret or even read my own findings, but my own results aside, my observations still hold true when using other's test readings on this forum including that of Invincible. But alas, I posted this not for the sake of disproving the validity of brix readings and it's correlation with quality, but rather simply as a discussion and I do apologize if I have offended you in anyway. My 'silly' comments are simply made in the interests of seeking truth, that's it. Afterall, that's what we're all here for isn't it?
"There is a Great Difference in betting about something which you have "NO" understanding about and someone betting against you who has understanding about the subject !"
Then perhaps I will admit I have no understanding of brix, and hence that is why I ask. Quite honestly, I do not think anyone really fully understands the exact components of a brix reading... any description I've come across from any source (scientific or not) has been very vaque. I have yet to find any useful descriptive explanation or detailed analysis of each component of brix readings.
I appreciate your response, but I am a bit taken back by it. Honestly, I did not mean in any way to attack your stance on the value of Brix tests. As I said, I only seek out an educational discussion on this topic... so again I apologize, if you have taken any offense.
Regards,
Mike
