Ultimately, the Christians are being used again, and they don't realize it -- again.

The Christians were used to put the Republicans into power in 1994 by getting them angry enough at Democrats (who deserved every bit of the ire directed at them) and motivated enough to get out and vote against them. The Republicans were instructed to play to the Christians and support their specific agenda.

Then the Republicans got a little too uppity -- especially Bush -- and so Christians are now being demoralized to discourage them from voting at all as one of the tactics to get Republicans out of power.

Democrat or Republican, it doesn't much matter, however. Both parties are owned. Republicans are being brutally reminded of that fact at the moment, and Democrats are still waiting for their marching orders.
