Re: HIDA SCAN
I have had the HIDA scan...there are 2 parts. They basically hook you up to an IV in your arm (where you get a blood test), and shoot some radioactive dye (I think) into you and watch it go through your GB. For part 2, they add some chemical that makes your GB fill up an contract. If they do both parts, it takes about an hour and half (2nd part takes an hour). It's probably worthwhile to get both done since you're already there. It's possible that you could feel discomfort during the test, but I didn't. It just caused lots of gas for me.
I had this test along with 2 sonograms and they didn't find anything. I have since done about 14 flushes and gotten out about 2,500+ small stones (BBish size), and about 15 large stones (up to 1 inch).
I just completed my 14th flush yesterday and feel good today...I hope and pray it continues. Since I continue to get large stones (the bigger ones are the most recent), I will continue every 2 weeks until I don't get anymore...or I find a better idea.
You can access the details on the Dr Clark flush at drclark.com...
Read through the FAQ and archives on this site...lots of good info.
Good luck with the test!
