Re: Michael J. Fox and Parkinsons Disease
If Michael has given up diet soda and made a connection between the toxins inherent in ingesting aspartame, he sure has not gone on national television and done an interview to speak out against it. Of course, look what happened to Oprah Winfrey when she spoke out about Mad Cow Disease, so the liability most likely would not be acceptable.
Perhaps there is a catch-22 to our growing health dilemma. No one knows for sure to what extent alternative medicine is employed but I know, I see people who come here when all traditional medicine fails them, and by the grace, they leave healed. My friends do faith healing and that is a total other subject, but even that has been substantiated by X-rays and post-healing tests.
Thank goodness we live in a country where we do have choices and can sift through the many modalities and schools of healing to CHOOSE for ourselves the way we want to improve our health and heal our illnesses.
So much can be attributed to one's mindset and I believe that having control in one's health management is important. Abdicating my choices to allopathic doctors was one of my biggest mistakes I ever made. After being thrown from a horse in the 70's and the only relief any of the specialists offered, since I broke my neck, was painkillers and a life in bed with doses of Soma and Valium. I sought out the help of a chiropractor who worked with me to straigten my spine, strengthen the muscles in my neck and used acupuncture to relieve my pain so I could escape the hell I felt I was living in. I never looked back and have successfully sifted my way through all the ways, ancient and new, which you may consider quackery, but which I consider options to the alternative which is collecting/eating pills. I remember growing up, my own mother collected prescription bottles of pills, boxes of pills...I have NO prescription bottles in my life, and at my age, I feel that represents doing something right.
My rethinking is geared to learning more of what works for others, and helping to share my own success in achieving a better health, free from aches and pains, and prescriptions, as well, passing this info on to my daughter so she too will have more information and better choices than I did.
Hopefully the people you mention or are thinking of, have done a lot of homework in their search for health, and found something of value in methods "off the beaten path". I wish them all the best...
be happy, be well,
Zoe
