Re: A love child
I have seen some other Christian forums on the internet (there might not be too many, I don't know). The general teaching of Christianity is that the bible should provide the ONLY guidelines for being Godly, but the reason I think this forum has, in my opinion, such credibility is that it has the "prerequisite" (as if it were) of believing that the status quo of med/pharma is insufficient and there must be something BETTER than the STANDARD. The belief that Alternative medicine has something better to offer requires an initial "step of faith" that a person has to WANT to take (the desire for things to be BETTER, (Hebrews 11:16 "...desire a BETTER country"). WANTING better involves PERSONAL feeling, just like LOVE involves PERSONAL feeling. The similarity is obvious (it all requires a personal desire/want and love. It is impossible to please God without having faith, but "the greatest of these" 1 Corinthians 13:13 is what pleases God most because God is LOVE, not faith, but we should not love ONLY Him, but the people also.
Just one example of how anxious we are (as taught) to condemn/convict our fellow human being is that EVEN Christians will jump at the chance to convict Pilate for his treatment of Jesus before the crucifixion took place. The account is in all four versions of the gospel(Matthew 27:15, Mark 15:6, Luke 23:18, John 18:38) and Acts3:14. Pilate pleaded with the people to change their minds so that Jesus would go free, but it was the religious authorities who incited the riots and Pilate was solemnly bound by his public duties.
Yet Christians today are very anxious (like the Zealots) to condemn Pilate in order to make a name for themselves and because they have (instead of learning from The Holy Spirit, Hebrews 9:14) to redeem their conscience (like the murderer becomes an icon of conscience/pound of flesh so we can feel guiltless).
It seems that the bloodthirstiness of humanity is well intact today largely because the 66 books of the bible are interpreted by the 6th day creation, so who really is 666?
Scripture seems very philosophical at times (Pilate said "What is truth", John 18:38 as though irrelevant/insignificant to humanity, true, but who was he talking to? John 14:6). Scripture also seems to deliberately provide the ability to interpret it like a Greek tragedy (choosing the moral of the story subjectively).
Scripture was definitely engineered/designed by the creator so that what would show is...what is in our heart.
