Most people with type O blood (myself included) produce much larger quantities of stomach acid than other blood types. If this is you, you will know that if you try to eat a high carb meal(especially a high carb, high fat meal) without an adequate portion of meat protein to balance it out you will get terrible heartburn and/or indegestion. Anyway, this high acid content is what enables you to digest red meat well and it also destroys many parasites. If you are eating cooked meat, it should not be an issue anyway. If you are eating it raw, or almost raw, then be sure to chew you food well (giving you stomach acid access to a greater surface area of meat) and do periodic parasite cleanses. Our paleo selves were much more aware of herbs and roots that healed and removed parasites, and would have consumed these on a regular basis.
