Therapeutic or sexual in nature?

Recently I was in a discussion with a person from the medical community, and the discussion on men's health came up which prompted a discussion on prostate health. Then this person started to discuss the practice of prostate massages. Though the discussion was not sexual in nature, the description of how the actual massage was done, raised some questions in my mind Is there a practice medically indicated that would require such a procedure. From its description, it certainly would be invasive in so far as how the prostate is initially massaged digitally via the rectum. Then too it was said that to enhance this massage, the base of the penis is manipulated. It sounded more on the sexual side, considering I've never had this done. But, is it a therapeutic procedure? So, I just want to get some honest feedback regarding this. Thank You.
