overcoming addiction

I went 80 days without coffee. 30 of those days with no dairy, grains or meat as well. I started on the coffee slowly, I put milk in it. ANyway, I thought 1 once in a while. Now it is 2 a week...Now Im addicted again. Then I love Nanna cookies,. They are healthy for a treat, but Im craving them daily. I need help here. I know I have the discipline!! Can someone tell me how long I need to "fast" from my addictive foods before I just dont want them? I was thinking if I could do 3 months maybe then I just wont want the stuff. Is it possible to just get to the point where you only have say a cookie and coffee on occasion? Or does the desire just totally leave at some point?
Am I an addict and this is like alcoholism where you just have to say no to coffee and cookies forever? Is that how it works? Or am I just weak and pathetic!!!!
