Re: What's wrong with Epsom Salts?

When I take it my eyes hurt and I want to throw up, so I stopped using it. A lot of naturopaths and MH, say it causes diahhrea because the inorganic magnesium isn't welcome in the human body. Oxypowder (Mg02) contains no sulphate, yet is more laxative, and weight for weight contains more magnesium than ES (MgS04.7H20), so I think it is mainly the Mg not the sulphate which causes the diarrhea.

Moreless thinks small amounts of ES supply usable magnesium which allows the intestines to function properly, but what if the body is simply reacting less severely to a lesser amount of inorganic magnesium? It's one thing to read that magnesium is a component of intestinal function, it's another to assume Epsom Salts provide usable magnesium when another explanation is also available. Has Moreless conducted experiments to determine whether small amounts of ES either inhibit or improve digestion?

Oxypowder doesn't affect my body as does ES, so probably the sulphate is responsible for my eye pain and nausea, as it causes every capillary and duct in the body expand. Is it natural to force the capillaries and liver to purge like this?

You can say Andreas took a lot of Epsom Salts , but you can also say a lot of people live on junk food and are in almost perfect health so far. Are there long term effects of taking Epsom Salts as there are living on junk food?
