Well said Ohfor07!!! That was great to read.

Great line: Back then this was something that I and many other kids wanted to do.... looked forward too with zeal.... did not have to be tricked / bribed or coerced into doing.

I am so glad that I brought back some pleasant memories for you. I have to say that I really did have a nice childhood and enjoyed all the pleasures of it growing up. I just have a feeling that I, growing up in the late 60s to early 70s, was really the last of the fun times for kids. I might be way off but things started to change with the onset of computers, and computer related gadgets in the late 80s, 90s, and present day.

Oh well...(sigh). Hope things turn around for this new generation. Health-wise that is. It's just very sad to know that kids are inside on a warm summer day playing on computers or watching TV.
