Re: There are two paths we can go by...
Your thoughts have the flavor and complexity of a good curry. I can only take one tiny thing at a time and turn it over, like a really beautiful rock a little kid finds in a creek. For now, I am blown away with the idea of having the capacity to
enjoy and savor and delight in a rose without having to own it. The desire, need, drive to possess the rose will not survive the tunnel, but the delight and joy in the rose will! Because the desire is of the flesh and flesh and desire aren't part of our true place. Can't we abandon ourselves to the sheer beauty of a vibrant orange-red-russet on an autumn tinged tree without having to own possess the forest? Or do we need to own every scarf and sweater in town that has those radiant colors? I've watched aging relatives get fixed on something that consumed them in their youth--fussing with food or clothes or whatever they spent too many hours on and the brain got stuck. How to get unstuck before it is too late. It's o.k. if the librarian is supposed to keep track of things. That's his/its job. That being has a lot to track on us all. Maybe he/it fills those light-energy scrolls you saw. Your comments have become a big part of my thinking life, despite an intense job I go to. I'll be traveling next week, and won't be able to check my email. If some terrorist does in the plane, I'll be in the light. Email is wierd. We just drop in and out of people's lives. Thank you for the time you are giving to help me figure out where I'm going(not this trip) and how to get there.
