flaking, itching red patches on scalp

In June of 2006 I received emergency abdominal surgeries at a local hospital. Ruptured appendix, divereticulitis,liver lesion and massive infection I was very ill and required almost a month’s stay in the hospital. While there, I was also diagnosed with an irreversible, genetic lung disease known as Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency causing COPD. I was placed on continuous oxygen and I am now scheduled to go through some enzyme replacement infusions.
My question is this. Since my Lung problems began, I have had severe flaking, itching and scalp redness.Is this related? Any Ideas?
