It depends on your browser. I suspect you are using AOL because AOL opens more than window when you log on to the internet.

You probably are not being hacked or anything. Since your computer is not on a network(except for the internet), you can rest assure no one else is viewing your files.

That's just how some browsers work. I, personnally, was a bit irritated with AOL's multiple windows thing because it confused me sometimes.
