First - find out why surgery is needed (2nd opinion...). Get recommendations from friends for a very GOOD chiropractor. See if he/she can offer help to you. In the meantime get some bfc from herbsfirst.com and massage that into the spine at least 2x daily. Get a brace (if all this is necessary).
